The first Peter Rabbit movie was released in 2018, directed by Will Gluck, and is a live-action/CGI hybrid adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s books. The movie features James Corden as the voice of Peter Rabbit, with a mix of animated animals and live-action human actors, including Rose Byrne as Bea and Domhnall Gleeson as Mr. McGregor. It follows Peter, his cousin Benjamin Bunny, and his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail as they cause trouble in Mr. McGregor’s garden. When Mr. McGregor dies unexpectedly, Peter takes over the garden and enjoys the fruits of his labor, but also struggles with his relationship with Bea, who is trying to move on from her past with McGregor.

The film received mixed reviews, with praise for the animation and humor but criticism for its script and treatment of the classic characters. Despite the mixed reviews, it performed well at the box office, grossing $351 million worldwide on a $50 million budget, which led to the production of a sequel.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (2021), directed again by Will Gluck, continues the story with Peter Rabbit and his friends facing new adventures and challenges, including Peter’s impulsive nature causing tension between him and Bea. The sequel also features new characters and explores Peter’s attempts to find a place for himself in the world.

As for Peter Rabbit 3, there hasn’t been an official release yet, but it’s expected to follow the adventures of Peter and his friends, likely in the same comedic and family-friendly vein as the first two films. Fans are eagerly awaiting more news on the story, cast, and production updates.
